Vexos is set to close its manufacturing facility in northern Ohio, resulting in the layoff of over 60 employees. According to a notice sent by Vexos to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, the plant will shut down by the end of the year.
On October 1, 46 of the plant's 62 employees will be laid off, while another 15 will remain temporarily to assist with the closure process. Only one employee will continue with the company after the facility closes.
The LaGrange facility, a full turnkey provider, specializes in printed circuit board assembly (PCBA), mechanical assembly, testing, box build, and shipping. Despite expanding the facility by 16,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space in 2022 and doubling its PCBA manufacturing capacity in 2021 with new equipment, Vexos has decided to cease operations at this location.
Vexos is headquarted in New York City, but has facilities in Washington state, Canada, China, Vietnam and a in Mexico, where the company opened a new facility in January.
