January 23, 2024 – South Korean PCB automation equipment manufacturer Taesung (KOSDAQ: 323280) announced robust financial results for the year, reporting an operating profit of KRW 6.038 billion, marking a dramatic turnaround from the previous year's operating loss of KRW 686 million. Revenue surged by 77.6% year-on-year to KRW 59.212 billion, while net profit reached KRW 6.086 billion, a sharp recovery from the KRW 1.417 billion net loss recorded in 2023. The company attributed the improvements to a significant increase in order volume, which bolstered both sales and profitability.
In addition, a Taesung official revealed on January 22 that the company plans to supply trial production equipment for manufacturing glass substrates in the first quarter of 2024, or by the second quarter at the latest. Taesung is currently in discussions with clients preparing for mass production of glass substrates to finalize the equipment specifications. The trial equipment represents Taesung's proprietary pre-treatment technology for the glass substrate TGV process, covering steps from etching to pre-processing.
Beyond its glass substrate equipment, Taesung is actively advancing its composite copper foil business for secondary batteries. To support this expansion, the company purchased factory land in Cheonan for approximately KRW 19.4 billion in 2024. The new site will be used for manufacturing composite copper foil and glass substrate equipment.
