SIG Corporation (CEO Jeong Seung-won) announced that it has signed a strategic partnership (MOU) with CRT (Croll Technology Limited), a Chinese PCB manufacturer, during a visit to Shenzhen, China, on November 14.
CRT, established in 2012, specializes in total PCB solutions and has built manufacturing facilities capable of producing various types of PCBs and FPCs. The company is currently partnered with major players such as Foxconn, Philips, Panasonic, Hyundai Motor, and Doosan.
CEO Jeong Seung-won stated, “By forming this strategic partnership with CRT, SIG Corporation has secured both pricing and technological competitiveness for our AIoT product, 'Sinihug,' which is designed to prevent loneliness deaths among single-person households."
SIG Corporation, recognized as the top performer in the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' "2023 First-time Youth Entrepreneurship Support Project," established its corporation in August 2023. The company has since been focused on developing 'Sinihug,' a smart AIoT sensor designed to prevent loneliness deaths.
'Sinihug' is a sensor pad that attaches to a bed mattress. Without the need to wear any device, the pad can monitor biometric data (such as heart rate, breathing cycle, and stress level) simply by lying on the bed. If abnormalities are detected, the system sends alerts to a mobile phone for immediate action.
SIG Corporation has adopted an unconventional approach to financing its AIoT manufacturing efforts, generating capital through the online sale of premium Hanwoo beef. CEO Jeong Seung-won was inspired by the story of Airbnb's founders raising initial funds by selling cereal and decided to apply the same model to selling Hanwoo beef, which has high demand during major holidays and year-end seasons. This approach ensures a steady flow of capital for the company's operations.
In line with Jeong's early survival strategy, SIG Corporation's brand, 'Two-Star Hanwoo No. 9,' has raised 150 million KRW in crowdfunding through the Wadiz platform, supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs and the Agricultural Policy Insurance Fund’s "Agrifood Crowdfunding Support Program."
Currently, SIG continues to fund its manufacturing independently through B2B sales with partners like CJ and Woori Bank.
CEO Jeong Seung-won emphasized, "Every single-person household and elderly individual has the right to live protected. Young people must take an active interest in and contribute to this cause. Through Sinihug, we envision a Korea where loneliness deaths are prevented."
SIG Corporation has also received various support programs and commercialization funds through the youth venture development program run by CNT Tech, an investment accelerator, expanding its opportunities for growth.
