His bonus was calculated in recognition of these accomplishments.”
Meanwhile, LG Innotek (011070.KS) CEO Moon Hyeok-soo received KRW 524 million in the first half, which is about 30% of the KRW 1.846 billion received by his predecessor, Jeong Cheol-dong, who is now the CEO of LG Display. Moon's compensation includes a base salary of KRW 408 million and a bonus of KRW 109 million.
LG Innotek explained, “The company’s revenue increased from KRW 19.5894 trillion in 2022 to KRW 20.6053 trillion in 2023. The bonus was calculated and paid in consideration of Moon’s leadership in achieving business goals, including the continuous expansion of the optics business, nurturing new semiconductor substrate businesses, and establishing a foundation in the automotive sector.”
Jeong Cheol-dong, who served as LG Innotek’s CEO last year, received KRW 702 million in salary and KRW 1.144 billion in bonuses during the first half of 2022. Even after moving to LG Display, he received a KRW 585 million bonus from LG Innotek in the first half of this year. LG Innotek noted that bonuses are determined based on a comprehensive evaluation of financial metrics such as revenue, operating profit, and net income, as well as leadership, expertise, ethical management, and talent development, with payouts ranging from 0% to 150% of the base salary.
These compensation figures highlight how both Samsung Electro-Mechanics and LG Innotek tie executive pay to company performance, with significant emphasis on financial metrics and strategic leadership. As both companies navigate rapidly evolving markets, their executives’ compensation reflects their roles in steering the company towards sustained growth and market competitiveness.
