South Korean company Samsung Electro-Mechanics (KRX: 009150) and its labor union have reached an agreement to raise average wages by 5.0% in 2025. The agreement includes a 3% base salary increase and a 2% performance-based raise. In addition, all employees will receive a special bonus of 300,000 KRW to support organizational morale.
The company held a signing ceremony on April 1 at its Hwaseong office, attended by Vice President Park Bong-soo, head of the People Team, and union leader Shin Hoon-sik, along with other labor-management representatives.
The agreement follows a tentative deal reached on February 26. A union-wide vote held from March 27 to 31 approved the agreement with a 79% approval rate.
“This agreement reflects the shared effort of both labor and management. We hope to continue growing together as a company and a union,” said Shin, the Respect Labor Union chairman. VP Park also expressed confidence in the company's future, citing collaboration and mutual growth.
The Respect Labor Union at Samsung Electro-Mechanics was founded in January 2024 and currently has around 2,800 members.
