Nippon Denkai's US plant halts copper foil production due to power equipment malfunction

Nippon Denkai, Ltd. (TSE:5759) announces that the manufacturing process in the US plant has been suspended due to a malfunction of its electrical equipment.

June 13, 2023 approximately 14:30 at local time

2. Location of Occurrence

Denkai America Inc., Camden Plant (Camden, South Carolina, USA)

3. Current Status

The operation of manufacturing process has been suspended due to a malfunction of the rectifier within the electrical facilities.

4. Impact on the production and shipments

One of the two rectifiers is expected to be repaired around July 10 and operations will resume. For the other unit, Nippon Denkai is currently working with the rectifier manufacturer to investigate the cause of the problem and to confirm the restoration schedule.

Regarding product shipments, as of today, Nippon Denkai has secured enough inventory to supply products by midJuly, and Nippon Denkai do not expect any immediate impact on product shipments for the time being.

5. Future Outlook

The restoration prospects and the impact of this incident on the consolidated business results for the FY2023 are currently under evaluation. In the case of any matters that should be disclosed,Nippon Denkai will make an announcement as soon as possible.
