On March 5, 2025, Micron Technology, a leading memory manufacturer, announced the appointment of two seasoned business leaders—former TSMC Chairman Mark Liu and Deloitte Senior Audit & Assurance Partner Christie Simons—to its Board of Directors. These appointments aim to strengthen Micron's leadership as it navigates the rapidly evolving semiconductor landscape.

Mark Liu: A Semiconductor Industry Veteran

Mark Liu brings over three decades of experience in the semiconductor industry, having held numerous leadership roles at TSMC, including Senior Vice President (2004-2012), Co-Chief Operating Officer (2012-2013), President and Co-CEO (2013-2018), and Executive Chairman (2018-2024). Under his leadership, TSMC became the world's largest semiconductor foundry.

Liu's career began at Intel, where he contributed to the development of 32-bit microprocessor technology. He later joined AT&T Bell Labs, conducting foundational research in high-speed electronics. Currently, he is the founder and chairman of J&M Copper Beech Ventures, a multi-strategy investment fund. Liu holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University and master's and doctoral degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California, Berkeley.

Christie Simons, a Senior Audit & Assurance Partner at Deloitte, brings nearly 30 years of experience serving global technology clients. She has held several key leadership roles at Deloitte, including leading the Global Semiconductor Center of Excellence and serving as the U.S. Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) Audit & Assurance Leader. Simons has extensive experience in global equity and debt offerings, enterprise-wide digital transformations, and providing consulting, advisory, tax, and assurance services to semiconductor clients.

Simons holds a bachelor's degree in international business and finance from the University of Colorado Boulder's Leeds School of Business and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in California. She is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs.
