In response to the issue, Unimicron released a statement last night stating that "the company has not yet received a ruling from the Department of Labor,Taoyuan City Government. Regardless of the ruling, the company will respect and humbly reflect on it, and strengthen communication with employees to reduce the occurrence of similar incidents.
Despite Unimicron's strong market presence and influence as a prominent player in the global PCB industry, the company has also been affected by the challenging market conditions that have impacted many industries this year.
However, Unimicron's Chairman Zeng Zizhang remains optimistic view on the mid-to-long-term demand for ABF substrates and has announced an investment of NT$30 billion to expand its high-end substrate plant.Moreover,Unimicron also announced the establishment of a subsidiary in Thailand with a capital of 1.26 billion baht in March.
According to Unimicron's financial report, revenue in May 2023 reached 8.598 billion NTD, a slight increase from the previous month, but a year-on-year decrease of nearly 30%.The accumulated revenue for the first five months of the year was 43.533 billion NTD, a year-on-year decrease of 19.42%.
