Ingentec Breaks Ground on Third Plant to Advance TGV Glass Substrate Production

On December 18, 2024, Ingentec Corporation (4768.TWO), a leading Taiwanese manufacturer of specialty gases and advanced materials, held a groundbreaking ceremony for its third integrated production base (Ingentec Plant 3) in Miaoli County. This facility marks a significant milestone in the company’s investment in advanced materials, particularly TGV glass substrates, which are critical for next-generation PCB and semiconductor applications.

A Focus on Advanced PCB Materials

Ingentec Plant 3 is designed as a diverse production facility, concentrating on three key areas:

Specialty Gases – The primary product is hexafluorobutadiene (C4F6), an essential material used in semiconductor 3D NAND Flash and wafer etching processes. These gases play a pivotal role in PCB manufacturing by supporting advanced etching and lithography.

TGV Glass Substrates – Produced using Ingentec’s proprietary LADY (Laser Arrow Decomposition Yield) process, TGV glass substrates serve as advanced packaging materials for high-performance PCBs and AI chips. They enable high-density interconnections, efficient thermal management, and high-speed, low-loss signal transmission. These substrates are also used in 5G/6G communication, medical chips, and RF components for low-orbit satellites.

Micro LED Components – While focused on PCB materials, the facility will also produce Micro LED components and displays, leveraging Ingentec’s expertise in energy-saving and high-reliability technologies.

Driving Innovation in PCB and Semiconductor Industries

The TGV glass substrates produced at Plant 3 are expected to meet the growing demands for advanced PCBs in AI, telecommunications, and aerospace applications. These substrates enable higher signal integrity and improved thermal performance, positioning Ingentec as a key supplier in the evolving electronics landscape.

Economic Contributions and Strategic Growth

Ingentec Plant 3 is set to create over 500 jobs and generate an annual output value exceeding NT$5 billion. The specialty gases factory is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2026, with other production lines actively being developed.

Miaoli County Magistrate Zhong Dong-jin, who attended the groundbreaking ceremony, commended Ingentec’s significant contributions to the region’s economic development. He highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation, local investment, and corporate social responsibility, which have greatly benefited the local community.
