Haesung DS (CEO Cho Byung-hak), a specialist in high-reliability semiconductor lead frames, has proactively adjusted supply prices to reflect raw material fluctuations, like nickel and copper, even before the official implementation of the supply price linkage system.

Recognized for forming linkage agreements with seven partners, Haesung DS was named an "Outstanding Company for Supply Price Linkage in 2023."  On June 7, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups held a meeting at Haesung DS in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, with Deputy Minister Oh Ki-woong presiding.  Haesung DS, the first "leading partner company for the supply price linkage system," implemented the system even before its official start on January 1, 2024.

Representatives and related personnel from three partnering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)——Shinpoong Metal Co., Ltd., MK Chem & Tech Co., Ltd., and OR Chem Co., Ltd.—attended, along with Haesung DS CEO Cho Byung-hak. Haesung DS showcased its progress and achievements, while the SMEs shared their experiences and benefits of the system.

The companies noted they are adapting to nickel price changes through linkage agreements using the LME (London Metal Exchange).  However, they also mentioned challenges like some partners' reluctance to disclose costs, which complicates forming agreements.

Deputy Minister Oh emphasized the Ministry's commitment to promoting exemplary cases and supporting the system's widespread adoption through additional linkage support headquarters and expanded project agreements.
