Finnish Finance Minister Visits Aspocomp, Discussing the Future of Europe's PCB Industry

A PCB manufacturer and supplier, Aspocomp Group Plc, recently hosted Finland's Minister of Finance, Riikka Purra, along with State Secretary Riikka Slunga-Poutsalo and Member of Parliament Pekka Aittakumpu, for a comprehensive visit to its facilities. The visit offered an in-depth look at Aspocomp's printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing processes, showcased its strong demand outlook, and sparked discussions about the challenges facing Europe's PCB industry.

Aspocomp leadership raised concerns about the region's declining market share and its limited ability to invest in new capacity — especially with growing demand from semiconductor and defense industries. The company emphasized that revitalizing Europe's PCB production capabilities is essential to securing the continent's position in global supply chains. Increased investment and innovation, they argued, are critical to keeping pace with high-growth, technology-driven sectors.

Expanding Operations in Asia

While advocating for European production, Aspocomp has also steadily expanded its global footprint, particularly in Asia. Since establishing its first factory in Suzhou, China, in 2001, and later opening a Shenzhen office in 2011, the company has strengthened its presence in the region.

Led by industry expert Khan Liu, the Shenzhen team supports key customers across telecommunications, automotive, industrial electronics, and semiconductor testing sectors. By managing quality control, logistics, and production locally, the team ensures faster response times and more efficient project handling.

Aspocomp's global strategy integrates its European and Asian operations, providing customers with flexible, scalable production options — from rapid prototyping in Europe to high-volume manufacturing in China. This seamless collaboration ensures consistent quality and reliable delivery, positioning Aspocomp as a key player in the evolving global PCB market.
