On July 17, the environmental bureau of China's Wuxi municipality has penalized Yixing Silicon Valley Electronic Technology, a unit of Shenzhen Fastprint Circuit Tech (SHE:002436), for environmental violations at its ongoing printed circuit board expansion project, according to a disclosure by the company on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
An inspection revealed that the facility lacked essential pollution control equipment, including a regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO) and hazardous waste warehouse gas towers. In response, the Chinese circuit board manufacturer announced plans to install the necessary pollution control facilities to comply with environmental regulations. The company has already signed a contract to purchase an RTO control facility.
Following the news, shares of Shenzhen Fastprint Circuit Tech dropped nearly 4% by the close of trading.
