On July 10th, Elite Material Co. Ltd.(referred to as EMC,2383-TW) plans to invest a total of $40 million in the construction of a new plant in Penang, Malaysia. The proposed facility, which will occupy a 14-acre site, is expected to commence construction in this quarter and will have an initial monthly production capacity of 450,000 sheets of Copper-clad Laminate (CCL). It is anticipated that mass production will commence in early 2025. The second phase of the project will establish an additional monthly capacity of 450,000 sheets of CCL, which will bring the total monthly production capacity to 900,000 sheets of CCL once both phases are completed. This marks a significant milestone for the company as it will be its first factory located outside of the United States, China, and Taiwan.

Furthermore, in a strategic move to expand its market share in the United States and boost its revenue, EMC's U.S. subsidiary, Arlon, which was acquired by EMC in 2020, has recently entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with Insulectro, the largest distributor of PCB and printed electronics manufacturing materials in North America. Under this agreement, starting on September 4, 2023, Insulectro will become the sole distributor of Arlon's copper-clad laminates in North America. This agreement is expected to significantly increase the company's revenue and strengthen its position in the U.S. market.
