Taiwan's leading PCB equipment supplier, C Sun Manufacturing Ltd. (2467.TW), has started the new year with a significant achievement. On January 2, 2025, the company announced it successfully passed the SEMI E187 certification, becoming the first CoWoS (Chip-on-Wafer-on-Substrate) equipment provider to do so. This milestone underscores C Sun's strong commitment to both technological innovation and cybersecurity, in alignment with TSMC's stringent supply chain security requirements.

SEMI E187 is a cybersecurity standard established by the Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI) association. It ensures the security of data transmission, storage, and operations in semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

The certification not only strengthens supply chain cybersecurity but also enhances the company’s competitive edge in the global semiconductor market. C Sun emphasized that passing SEMI E187 highlights its commitment to security and its capability to support TSMC's cutting-edge technological advancements. C Sun's G2C alliance partner, Gaho Technology, also became one of the first companies to receive the SEMI E187 certification last year. Their successful collaboration has further strengthened their competitive position in high-end manufacturing and set a new cybersecurity benchmark for the semiconductor supply chain.

With the SEMI E187 certification now achieved, C Sun is focused on continually enhancing the cybersecurity performance of its existing equipment while actively developing solutions that meet the latest standards.
