BPL Limited, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art printed circuit board (PCB)manufacturing facility in Doddaballapur, on the outskirts of Bangalore. This ambitious project, which represents an investment of Rs 20 crore, is poised to revolutionize the PCB landscape in India.

The new facility focuses on producing double-sided and multi-layer PCBs, marking a significant upgrade from BPL's previous single-side PCB lines. The advanced manufacturing unit, which has commenced commercial production, is set to cater to specialized electronic segments, reinforcing BPL's commitment to innovation and quality.

“The establishment of this modern PCB facility not only signifies a major milestone for BPL but also for the Indian electronics industry as a whole," said a company spokesperson. "Our investment in a Class 100k clean room ensures a controlled environment crucial for high-quality PCB manufacturing. The in-house quality and testing labs, equipped with micro-section analysis and automated optical inspection, underscore our dedication to excellence."

The facility has created 110 direct jobs and an additional 150 indirect employment opportunities, contributing significantly to the local economy. This expansion comes at a time when the Indian PCB market is on a growth trajectory, with a projected compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18.1% from 2024 to 2032, aiming to reach $20.17 billion by2032.

BPL's latest venture is aligned with the Indian government's push for indigenous manufacturing and self-reliance in the electronics sector. This strategic move is expected to bolster the country's capability to meet the growing domestic demand for PCBs, reducing dependence on imports and enhancing local manufacturing capabilities.

"BPL has been a pioneer in PCB manufacturing since 1989, initially with technical assistance from Sanyo, Japan," the spokesperson added. "With our strong order book, currently at twice our monthly revenues, we are confident in our ability to meet the evolving needs of the electronics industry."

The new facility underscores BPL's long-term vision and its dedication to advancing India's electronics manufacturing sector, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of technological innovation and industry standards.
