Apex(4927.TW), a PCB manufacturer, has announced it will temporarily suspend its expansion plan for the Apex 4 plant in Thailand due to weaker-than-expected market conditions and supply chain pressures caused by inventory clearance. The company will instead focus on optimizing the production capacity of the Apex 1, Apex 2, and Apex 3 plants in Thailand."
Unfortunately, the production capacity of Apex 3 plant, which began mass production in the third quarter of 2021, has also been affected by the economic downturn. The operating ratio has increased at a slower-than-expected rate, resulting in Apex's overall average operating ratio dropping to 60-65%.
As a result of these economic pressures, Apex has decided to take a cautious approach and temporarily suspend its expansion plan for Apex 4. The company will continue to monitor market conditions and supply chain pressures and will reconsider the expansion plan in the fourth quarter of this year and it will focus on optimizing the production capacity of its existing factories until the Apex 4 expansion plan can be reassessed.
