AI demand drives Kinsus to new heights: GPU substrates and contact lens surge expected

Kinsus Interconnect Technology (3189.TW), a key supplier of GPU substrates for NVIDIA, expects a significant increase in AI-related product shipments starting in September. This is anticipated to boost utilization rates at its new plant. Additionally, the company’s contact lens business will see increased demand from September to October, driven by orders for the Double 11 shopping festival, positioning the third quarter as a potential annual high point.

Kinsus faced challenges in the first half due to adjustments and equipment upgrades at its new plant. However, with AI products entering production in September, utilization rates at the new facility are expected to rise significantly.

The new plant, operational since the end of last year, focused on employee training and equipment adjustments during the first half of the year. The third quarter will see increased production, with a monthly capacity of 10 million units. This plant specializes in high-layer ABF substrates, and all future high-end products will be produced there.

For the third quarter, Kinsus reported July revenue of NT$2.692 billion, a 12.13% increase from the previous month. Analysts forecast around 10% sequential revenue growth for Q3, with ABF substrates expected to grow by over 10%, BT substrates by up to 10%, and contact lens revenue by 10-15%.
