TTM Technologies(NASDAQ: TTMI) (“TTM”), a leading global manufacturer of technology solutions, announced that it has selected New York State as the location for a proposed new greenfield high-tech manufacturing facility with an investment of up to $130 million.

TTM plans to build a brand-new state-of-the-art advanced manufacturing facility on a 24-acre parcel that is immediately adjacent to the current manufacturing facility. It will be one of the largest manufacturing sites in North America for this technology.

“Critical components that go into every type of finished electronic product you could imagine from communications technology to defense technology and beyond. Those capabilities are being built right here in Central New York.”

The facility will be manufacturing some of the most advanced printed circuit boards in the world which are crucial to the U.S. semiconductor industry.

Additionally, the project is expected to bring an estimated 400 new jobs to the area and further enhance the current smart systems supply chain.

“It’s a really rewarding thing to not only be able to bring new jobs to this community but to provide certainty to all those 600 employees at TTM who work for that company in Syracuse today,” said Simpson. “We have a strategy for how we want to grow and build and where we want to be relevant, and we are working together collaboratively across the private sector with the public sector to make these investments happen.”

Chris Geiger said this allowed Central New York to become a Tech Hub and said it would put them on the map.

Sen. Chuck Schumer, Gov. Kathy Hochul, Rep. Brandon Williams, and others have voiced their approval of this new project. Williams said Central New York is the “new silicon empire.”
