(PCB UNION)-ASTG, which mainly focuses on developing rockets for international competitions, successfully launched the HALCYON rocket with hybrid propulsion during the Solaris-RMB flight day in Manching, Germany on September 10. The rocket's printed circuit board (PCB) was supplied by AT&S, a leading manufacturer of high-end PCBs.
The 25 kg and 3.5 m long rocket reached a flight altitude of 1550m and a maximum velocity of 360 km/h in preparation for the European Rocketry Challenge 2023 – EuRoC is the first rocket launch competition for European university teams. The Portuguese Space Agency created the competition in 2020 and has since gathered teams from various European countries in the Alentejo region. Based on constant and sustained growth, the 2023 edition of the competition has the support of the Portuguese Army and the Municipality of Constância.
