Meiko, a Japanese PCB manufacturer, is gearing up to commence construction on an electronic circuit factory worth nearly 5,000 billion VND (equivalent to 200 million USD) in the left bank industrial zone of the Da River in Hoa Binh City. The groundbreaking is scheduled for March 2024.
On October 23, the Standing Committee of the Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee held a productive meeting with a delegation from Meiko, headed by Mr. Atsushi Sakate, Vice Chairman of Meiko, to discuss the implementation of the investment project. The venture involves the establishment of an electronic circuit factory in the left-bank industrial zone of the Da River.
Meiko is presently in the process of securing the lease of land and infrastructure. The total area of the factory will span 9.2 hectares, with an impressive investment capital of nearly 5,000 billion VND (equivalent to 200 million USD).
During the meeting, representatives from Meiko lodged a proposal, seeking support from Hoa Binh Province in terms of investment procedures, project planning adjustments, and investment scale modifications. Additionally, they requested assistance in ensuring a stable electricity supply for the production process, meeting the demand for clean water usage and waste discharge. These measures are essential for the timely commencement of the factory in March 2024.
Mr. Nguyen Phi Long, Secretary of the Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee, expressed his commitment to supporting the Meiko Group throughout the administrative procedures. He also emphasized the importance of investing in transportation infrastructure, electricity systems, and wastewater treatment, thereby creating a favorable environment for both Meiko and other domestic and foreign enterprises to invest in the province.
Furthermore, he provided directives to the relevant departments and sectors, urging them to extend their utmost support to investors in completing the necessary procedures for project implementation as per the agreed timeline. The Provincial Industrial Parks Management Board will play a pivotal role, working in close coordination with departments and sectors to address any planning-related issues, ensure stable electricity and clean water supply, manage waste discharge, and promptly resolve any obstacles or difficulties that might arise during the implementation process. The aim is to complete all the required procedures by March 2024, paving the way for the commencement of the project.
Meiko has firmly established itself as one of the world's leading companies in the production of printed circuit boards and the assembly of electronic components. With five factories in Japan, two factories in China, and a network of representative offices and subsidiaries worldwide, the group's primary activities encompass the design, production, and manufacturing of various types of printed circuit boards (PCBs), as well as the assembly of components onto PCBs and the assembly of complete electronic products (EMS).
In Vietnam, Meiko has made significant investments in constructing three electronic circuit factories for PCB production and assembly. These factories have a combined total investment capital of 500 million USD, generating employment opportunities for over 7,000 workers and contributing approximately 30 million USD annually to the state budget.
